About Liz Robertson

Liz is a textile artist and teacher.  Having taught in senior schools, a FE college and in community education provision for 30 years, she became a full-time artist about 10 years ago.  Liz teaches in her studio in Gloucester and elsewhere,  including at national Christian events, in churches, at Gloucester cathedral and in other community settings.  She is also privileged to teach and exhibit at the renowned Nature in Art gallery and education space, near Gloucester.

Liz’s artwork has been exhibited at Gloucester Cathedral, at galleries and churches throughout the South West and at national Christian conferences.  Her work has also been featured in a national publication and local press and radio.  Liz is a member of the ‘Inside-Out’ group of Christian artists, which is a joy and privilege.

Liz is passionate about textiles and art. The textural and colour opportunities which textiles afford, as well as the emotional language of textiles, is what excites her creatively. She also loves to provide opportunities for people to explore their own creativity and their own spirituality, through art and the creative process.

Her Christian faith inspires her artwork and underpins all that she does, both personally and in her art practice.  She is especially interested in the personal story of journey, faith and worship, and this features in her artwork and her Christian ministry.

Liz’s work is also inspired by her love of landscape: it shapes the subject matter and the textures and colours she uses.

Liz can be contacted to discuss workshops, commissions and sales.
